Since moving to Oakland, back in the 2000s, This has been a mainstay for sushi and other great Japanese food choices. Service is always on point, the sushi is ALWAYS freshly prepared, and filling ( for a person that really enjoys food- and eating) I've found that two sushi rolls are more than enough. Side note: They have a TON of sushi options. Throughout the years I've enjoyed many meals at Mijori, and have always left with a good experience. The ambiance is nice, the place is clean, and the staff are always positive, and there when you need them. I'm constantly recommending Major to all who visit Oakland, and have always gotten great feedback on that recommendation. If you are craving Japanese/ sushi etc... give them a try, you won't be disappointed. I never am.

This is a true neighborhood gem. It's hands down the most reliably fresh and affordable sushi restaurant I've found in Oakland. The ambiance is quaint, the service is quick, and the fish is delectable. The agadashi tofu is the best I've ever had! It has the essence of ginger!

Have been coming Mijori since we lived in Oakland and still our favorite even after moving. We get the 49er roll and the Y2K. My only recommendation would be to have more options for the edamame-- they only do boiled. Would be nice to have a garlic edamame option. The place is small but intimate and wouldn't be a bad date spot. They get busy in the evenings, something yo keep in mind.
